New Haven, Conn., May , 2026 – Albertus Magnus College is proud to announce the launch of its new Associate of Science (A.S.) in Health Sciences program, specifically designed to meet the growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals. Now accepting applications for August 2026, this 60-credit program provides a flexible, accelerated pathway for adult learners, career changers, and aspiring nursing students to enter the healthcare workforce with confidence.

As healthcare continues to be one of the fastest-growing sectors in Connecticut and nationwide, the A.S. in Healthcare Sciences at Albertus Magnus College serves as a vital entry point for students looking to launch a professional career in the field. The program offers a unique blend of a strong science foundation with hands-on clinical training, specifically designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and the workforce. The curriculum is built around “stackable credentials,” allowing students to work toward industry-recognized certifications – including Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy Technician, and EKG Technician – while completing their degree, providing direct pathways to employment and future advancement.

Salvatore Diaz, D.N.P., M.S.N., R.N., C.N.E., is the College’s Associate of Science in Health Sciences faculty lead. With more than 20 years of experience in nursing and healthcare education and workforce development, Dr. Diaz believes in creating flexible and accessible educational pathways for students entering or advancing in healthcare professions. The program will be facilitated by our distinguished Albertus faculty across the fields of biology, chemistry, and allied health sciences, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education that balances technical proficiency with compassionate patient care.
