ACCESS HEALTH CT PRESENTS ANNUAL COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD TO HEALTH EQUITY CHAMPION

HARTFORD, Conn. (Oct. 13, 2026) — Access Health CT (AHCT), Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace, recognized Tiffany Donelson, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Connecticut Health Foundation, with its Community Impact Award.

The award was presented at AHCT’s annual Community Conference held Oct. 7 at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel in Windsor Locks. The conference is held each year to prepare community leaders and partners, Certified Brokers, Certified Application Counselors and AHCT staff members for the upcoming Open Enrollment Period. This year’s theme was “Pivoting with Power.”

The 2027 Open Enrollment Period runs from Oct. 23, 2026 through Jan. 15, 2027.

AHCT’s mission is to reduce the uninsured rate and reduce health disparities. Community partners play an important role in fulfilling that mission. Each year, AHCT recognizes a community leader who shares its commitment to expanding healthcare access in communities that face barriers to care.

“Tiffany is an advocate in every sense of the word,” said Access Health CT Chief Executive Officer James Michel. “Her work with the Connecticut Health Foundation and beyond has made such a lasting impact on our state. We are proud to recognize her dedication and passion with this year’s Community Impact Award.”

As President and CEO of the Connecticut Health Foundation, Donelson oversees the organization’s work in grantmaking, policy advancement, strategic communications and leadership development.

Her advocacy also includes service on Connecticut’s Healthcare Benchmark Initiative steering committee, the Commission on Racial Equity in Public Health and the Health Care Cabinet.

Under Donelson’s leadership, the Connecticut Health Foundation is a proud sponsor of Access Health CT’s Broker Academy Program, which provides opportunities for people who live and work in underserved communities to gain the skills they need to help their neighbors enroll in health and dental insurance.

“It was a tremendous honor to receive the Access Health CT Community Impact Award,” Donelson said. “As grateful as I am for this award, I am even more appreciative of all those who are working hard to keep Connecticut residents insured. This is a challenging time, and many of our neighbors are facing new barriers to staying covered and getting the care they need. Working together, we can help minimize the harm to our communities and build the groundwork toward a better future.”
