More than 40 events have been planned throughout Connecticut for March 28 as part of a national “No Kings Day” event, including at the State Capitol in Hartford.
Protests will start as early as 9 a.m. and run through the day and into the afternoon in some locations. The event in Hartford, which is promoted as a festival, is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and run for a few hours.
The protests are organized by Indivisible and the 50501 movement in partnership with local partners and organizations.

The theme “No Kings” is meant to protest the rise of authoritarianism and political violence in the United States, organizers said. The protests are billed as non-violent, and most will take place rain or shine.
“When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option,” organizers said. “We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.”
A nationwide “No Kings Day” protest in June 2025, on President Donald Trump’s birthday, has been billed asone of the biggest single-day protests in the nation’s history, with more than 2,000 events across the country simultaneously. In Connecticut,more than 10,000 people participated in the protest in Hartford that day, officials estimated, which was one of about 30 rallies held in the state.
In October 2025, thousands again gathered in Hartford for another “No Kings” rally, an event that drew about 7 million nationwide and featured 40-something events throughout Connecticut.
“We’re not watching history happen — we’re making it,” organizers said.
