The event marked a major milestone for the West campaign, generating significant momentum and underscoring growing enthusiasm for new leadership and bold representation in Annapolis. During her remarks, Destiny West outlined her vision for strengthening economic fairness, advancing government transparency, and protecting democratic processes at a time when residents are seeking responsive and accessible leadership. She emphasized the importance of representation rooted in lived experience and community connection. The evening featured live musical performances by Baltimore-born, Bach-endorsed trumpeter Brandon Woody, vocalist Elyscia Jefferson, along with an energetic set from DJ Super Sid, creating an atmosphere that blended celebration, culture, and political engagement. The event was also attended by Ambassador Dr. Margaret Dureke, Ambassador to The Gambia, and former Maryland Department of Labor Assistant Secretary Rachel Torres, both of whom have endorsed Destiny West, further underscoring the growing coalition of leaders supporting her campaign. Priority Access tickets sold out ahead of the event, signaling strong grassroots enthusiasm and expanding support for the campaign as it continues to build momentum leading into the 2026 Democratic primary. “This campaign is about bringing people together and building leadership that truly reflects our community,” Destiny West said. “The energy in the room showed that District 39 is ready for change and ready to move forward together.” |
