BET has named Druski, the 31-year-old comedian and digital creator, as the host of the 2026 BET Awards. This announcement makes him the youngest emcee in the history of the show, which will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on June 28, as confirmed by BET.
Druski surpasses Kevin Hart, who set the previous record in 2011, as reported by the Associated Press.
“I grew up watching the BET Awards,” Druski said in a statement. “To know the comedic legends that hosted before me set the bar so high, I’m just grateful to be a part of the history. But I’m still bringing my brand of comedy to the stage.”
The BET Awards are celebrating their 25th anniversary, marking a quarter-century as a premier platform honoring Black excellence across music, film, television, and sports. The ceremony is famous for its impactful performances, moving tributes, and culture-defining moments.
Connie Orlando, BET’s executive vice president of specials, music programming, and music strategy, said, “As one of the most exciting comedic voices of his generation, Druski brings a unique ability to connect with audiences through humor that feels both fresh and deeply rooted in culture.”
Jesse Collins Entertainment is set to produce the show, with Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay acting as executive producers.
According to Revolt, the comedian and social media star offered fans a very encouraging glimpse of what to expect.
“I told BET, ‘If I’m hosting, we gon’ do this my way,’” he opened before running through a few ground rules on Instagram.
“Rule No. 1: Jamie Foxx, take that big a** hat off. Rule No. 2: Sexyy Red, no leggings, rompers, or bodysuits. We don’t need no wrestlers. No wrestlers on the red carpet!” the Maryland native explained. “Rule No. 3: YNs, take the ski masks off, man. Stop. Stop it.”
Jamie Foxx replied, “You gon kill it. And I got a hat for u!!!”
Druski is famous for his sold-out tours and notable collaborations with musicians like Drake and Snoop Dogg, as well as appearances with high-profile individuals such as Tom Brady and Timothée Chalamet.
Druski’s achievements include being named to Forbes’ Under 30 list and Rolling Stone’s Most Influential Creator list. In 2025, he made history as the first comedian to be featured on the cover of Billboard’s No. 1s issue.
However, he has sparked numerous controversies, notably with an ongoing skit for his fictional label, Coulda Been Records. A viral clip from over two years ago showed him being pursued by Cash Money Records’ Birdman, who then snatched his jewelry. He also drew criticism from many mega-church pastors earlier this year due to his controversial portrayal of popular televangelists.
More recently, Druski boosted his popularity with his video, “How Conservative Women in America Act.” The clip, which seems to satirize Turning Point USA’s CEO, Erika Kirk, features Druski in full drag—with white makeup and a blonde wig—and has already reached over 100 million views since its release.
