Connecticut Housing Partners Receives $20,000 Grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation to Advance Over 400 Affordable Homes

January 30, 2026 (Trumbull, CT) – Connecticut Housing Partners (CHP) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation (FCCF) to support the organization’s growing pipeline of affordable housing projects across Connecticut.

CHP provides quality, safe, and affordable housing for low to moderate income families, while currently managing more than a dozen properties with over 600 homes serving approximately 1,300 residents. As the affordable housing crisis deepens marked by full shelters, long waitlists, and rising homelessness, this funding will help CHP address Connecticut’s shortage of more than 110,000 housing units, with significant need concentrated in Fairfield County.

The FCCF grant will support a robust pipeline of affordable housing projects in various stages of development, preservation, and rehabilitation. In total, this work includes the preservation of 113 affordable housing units and the construction of 324 new units serving working families, seniors, and individuals on fixed incomes.

Projects in the pipeline include:

“This funding is an investment in the future, supporting affordable housing at a time when the rising cost of living has made it increasingly difficult for working families and seniors on fixed incomes to find stable homes,” said Renée Dobos, CEO of Connecticut Housing Partners. “CHP remains committed to providing safe, high-quality, and affordable housing that strengthens families, supports the workforce, and sustains our communities.”

Fairfield County’s Community Foundation promotes philanthropy as a means to create change in Fairfield County, focusing on innovative and collaborative solutions to critical issues impacting the community. Individuals, families, corporations and organizations can establish charitable funds or contribute to existing funds. The Community Foundation is in compliance with the Council on Foundations’ national standards, and has awarded $180 million in grants to nonprofits in Fairfield County and beyond.
