A proud “Ohio girl” who has spent much of her adult life in North Carolina, Chloe Shevlin moved to New Haven in July 2021 for a new job — and without knowing anyone in her new home city.
She joined a “social tennis league,” but found that an old injury held her back.
That’s when she turned to pickleball — a trendy racket sport that is a little like tennis, a little like ping pong.
“You can be a lover and player of tennis and pickleball. I promise. It is legal,” Shevlin said with a laugh at a Wednesday press conference held on the newly renovated pickleball courts at Wilbur Cross High School.
