he Guggenheim Museum recently announced a special five-day pop-up exhibition featuring Jordyn Woods’ orange bag, which has been celebrated not only for its luck but also as a remarkable piece of art. The Guggenheim New York’s Café Rebay said it will feature Woods’ bag from June 24 to June 28.

The announcement came more than a week after the Knicks’ historic NBA Finals victory, a win that many attribute to the influence of Woods’ lucky bag.

In a press release, the designer and businesswoman, who is engaged to Knicks player Karl Anthony Towns, said that having the purse on display is an “honor.”

“The Guggenheim is one of my favorite places, and I never imagined that something I designed would one day be on view at the museum,” she told Good Morning America. “So many of us are still in shock over the Knicks’ historic run, and seeing the lucky bag at the Guggenheim somehow makes it all feel real.”

When Woods began carrying the bag to games during the Knicks’ postseason run, some fans came to believe that it was lucky.

The Knicks only lost once, in Game 3, when she was compelled to leave the bag at home because Madison Square Garden had a strict no-bag policy for President Donald Trump’s attendance. That evening, she replaced the purse with a sandal with the same pattern.

For Games 4 and 5, Woods returned with the bag, which some believe contributed to the Knicks’ consecutive wins.

Towns was spotted telling reporters after the Knicks won Game 5 that the purse was the reason.

Towns exclaimed, “The bag’s undefeated!” in a video that the National Basketball Association posted to Instagram. “I want everyone in New York to know that the bag won a championship.”

He added, “It’s one of the greatest clothing pieces in the history of basketball!”

Later, Towns made a joke about how the purse should be in a museum.
