The Jackson family is arguably one of the most famous families in the world with power and influence. The Jackson family consists of the nine children of Joseph and Katherine Jackson, who were born and raised in the Midwestern industrial city of Gary, Indiana.

The family built its foundation on music. Joseph, a mill crane operator, and one-time rhythm blues guitarist, would drive his five oldest sons to practice music for three hours a day. The brothers eventually started performing in local talent constants. In no time, they became household names.

MJ reportedly left in his will 40 percent of his assets to his three children to split equally amongst them. Twenty percent was also left to children’s charities while the remaining 40 percent went to his mother, Katherine.
