Street Outreach Program for the Homeless

The City of Bridgeport is encouraging all that can to support the Winter Essentials Donations – Street Outreach Program for the Homeless, organized by the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County.

This wonderful community initiative will take place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, in Bridgeport, helping provide much-needed supplies and winter essentials to individuals experiencing homelessness.

We are asking you to consider donating any of the following items:

  • Non-Perishable Food: Canned goods, soups, pasta, rice, cereal, and other shelf-stable items.
  • Winter Coats & Jackets: New or gently used coats in all sizes.
  • Winter Accessories: Gloves, hats, scarves, mittens, and warm socks.
  • Warm Clothing: Sweatshirts, sweaters, thermal clothing, and other winter essentials.
  • Additional Essentials: Blankets and other items that can help individuals stay warm during the winter months.

We ask that all donated clothing be clean and in good condition.

Donation collection boxes will be conveniently located in the lobbies of the following City buildings:

  • Margaret E. Morton Government Center, 999 Broad Street
  • City Hall, 45 Lyon Terrace
  • Beardsley Branch Library, 2536 East Main Street

Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference. Something as simple as a warm coat, a pair of gloves, or a few non-perishable food items can provide much-needed comfort to someone facing difficult circumstances. A special thank you to the Puerto Rican Parade of Fairfield County, Forty2 Events, and Moran Agencies for organizing this important outreach effort.
