Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ prison release date updated again after fight with fellow inmate

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ prison release date has been pushed back after he got into a fight with a fellow inmate. 

Per TMZ, records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons indicate that Combs’ prison release date has now been pushed back to February 20, 2028. That was after the 56-year-old’s prison release date was recently moved up to January from February.

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, this isn’t the first time that the embattled music executive’s prison release date has been updated. Combs’ prison release date was initially moved up from February 23, 2028, to January 24, 2028. Prior to that, his release date was moved up from June 2028 to April 2028. Combs was initially expected to complete his federal prison sentence on May 8, 2028.

This recent development also came after Combs was placed in solitary confinement after he and a fellow inmate got into a fight.

It could not be established why Combs’ release date had been repeatedly updated. The Bad Boy Records founder is serving his 50-month sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix in New Jersey. Combs was handed the punishment after a jury found him guilty of prostitution-related charges.

Judge Arun Subramanian also fined him $500,000 and ordered five years of supervised release at a hearing in Manhattan federal court in October 2025. Combs had faced up to 20 years behind bars.

Combs was arrested by federal agents in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs has, however, maintained his innocence.

A jury convicted Combs of two counts of Mann Act violations for transporting male escorts and former girlfriends Cassie Ventura and “Jane” for sex. He was also facing life in prison if convicted of the more grievous sex trafficking and racketeering charges, but he was ultimately acquitted by the jury.
