New Breakthrough in Gene Therapies Brings Hope

     Panel Discussion With Clinical Experts

The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, CT will be celebrating “A Night of Hope” discussion at their state headquarters, Michelle’s House 1389 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT. The event will take place on February 22, 2024 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. Several state and local leaders have been invited to attend as panelists and a representative from Vertex Pharmaceuticals will share insight regarding breakthrough therapies, their impact on the SCD community and what the future holds regarding a cure. The distinguished panel will include Farrah Gallard, Vertex Pharmaceuticals, State Senator Saud Anwar, Biree Andamarian, MD, Cece Calhoun, MD, Lakshmanan Krishnamurti, MD, and Frank Tavarez-Mora. “We are excited and grateful to have these individuals share their knowledge and generate a thoughtful discussion on SCD past and present, while providing the audience insight beyond normal media channels” stated James Rawlings, President, and CEO of Michelle’s House. At Michelle’s House, home of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Connecticut (SCDAA.CT), we embrace prevention strategies to enhance the quality of life and well-being of the community affected by Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). Advancements that support research initiatives, providing individuals and families with critical education, adding to the armamentarium of tools and access to support services through partnerships and advocacy.
