Have a question for Mayor Justin Elicker or mayoral challenger Steve Orosco?

Please post it in the comments section under this article, and it might just be asked at an upcoming debate.

That debate will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 7 p.m. at Co-Op High School at 177 College St.

On stage will be Elicker, the three-term incumbent Democrat and Working Families Party nominee, alongside Orosco, the Republican and Independent Party nominee.

Asking questions will be Thomas Breen (that’s me) from the New Haven Independent, Norma Rodriguez-Reyes from La Voz Hispana, Babz Rawls-Ivy from the Inner City News, and Vinnie Penn from WELI.

The debate will be hosted by the Democracy Fund, a pioneering public-financing program designed to limit the influence of large-dollar donations in mayoral elections.

We’ll be asking our own questions as well as questions submitted in advance by members of the public.

So, feel free to leave a question below, or email us at editor@newhavenindependent.org.
