Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, Inc., has partnered with luxury crystal manufacturer Swarovski to unveil a dazzling new addition to its iconic sneaker line: the Swarovski x Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Crystal.”

Priced at $1,000, this women’s exclusive sneaker, set to launch on May 22 via the SNKRS app and select retailers, marks the first collaboration between the two brands, blending sportswear heritage with high-end fashion.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Crystal” reimagines the classic “Shadow” colorway—originally debuted in 1985—with a black and grey palette entirely encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

The sneakers feature crystals of varying sizes across the upper, with a metallic Wings logo on the heel adding a premium touch. Special packaging, including a crystal basketball hangtag and care instructions, elevates the collector’s appeal.

The design reflects Jordan Brand’s ongoing push into luxury, following its Made-in-Italy “Wings” collection, while Swarovski builds on its history of Nike collaborations, such as the 2017 Air Max 97 adorned with 55,000 crystals.

This release comes amidst a broader trend of sportswear brands embracing high-fashion elements, targeting the growing women’s sneaker market.

The $1,000 price tag aligns with other luxury sneaker drops, like the Cactus Plant Flea Market x Nike Dunk Low from 2020, which now resells for thousands. However, the steep cost has sparked debate. While some see it as a collector’s dream, others question the value, noting that past Swarovski x Nike releases, like the $450 Air Max Plus, were more accessible.
