Here is why Hollywood Walk of Fame never unveiled Roberta Flack’s star

by Stephen Nartay, Face2FaceAfrica.com

Roberta Flack was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1999, but it was never unveiled as she never scheduled a ceremony.

TMZ reports that Walk of Fame rep Ana Martinez now hopes Flack’s family will coordinate with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to arrange a posthumous honor.

Even though the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is hoping Flack’s family will schedule her long-delayed Walk of Fame ceremony, any plans would have to wait until after 2025 due to a fully booked calendar.

TMZ reports that a similar situation occurred with Whitney Houston, who was approved for a star but never set a date for the unveiling.

Flack, who passed away at 88, left behind a legendary career, rising to fame in the 1970s with hits like The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face and Killing Me Softly.
