Dwyane Wade adds another title to his résumé – Chief Performance Officer at REVOLVE Group

by Mildred Europa Taylor, Face2FaceAfrica.com

REVOLVE Group, Inc. has appointed Dwyane Wade as Chief Performance Officer for REVOLVE Man and FWRD Man to help expand the company’s growing menswear business.

As Chief Performance Officer, the retired NBA player, who has had a long relationship with REVOLVE Group, will serve as the face and strategic advisor behind men’s fashion initiatives across the company’s growing menswear divisions, REVOLVE and FWRD, translating that perspective into the world of fashion, sports, culture, wellness, and more, according to a statement by the lifestyle and fashion enterprise.

REVOLVE Man focuses on contemporary fashion and everyday wardrobe essentials, while FWRD Man offers luxury menswear.

“Wade will help shape the vision for REVOLVE and FWRD’s men’s business through product curation and brand-building initiatives, while providing insight into category expansion, consumer trends, brand marketing, and partnership opportunities,” the statement added.

Michael Mente, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of REVOLVE Group, Inc., said that as his outfit continues investing in the future of its men’s business, it wanted a partner who authentically embodies the intersection of sport, fashion, and culture.

“Dwyane has long been recognized not only for his accomplishments as an athlete, but for his influence on modern men’s style and his ability to shape conversations beyond the court. His perspective, relationships, and vision make him the ideal partner to help guide this next chapter for REVOLVE Man and FWRD Man,” Mente explained.

Wade is also excited about his new role. “Style has always been an extension of how I express myself, both personally and professionally,” said the former Miami Heat player. “What excites me about this partnership is the opportunity to help shape how men engage with fashion today. REVOLVE and FWRD understand that modern style is no longer divided between performance, luxury, and everyday wear – it’s all connected. Together, we’re building something that reflects how men actually live, dress, and show up in the world.”

Wade will also provide strategic direction on category development, helping identify emerging opportunities, new brands, and product categories that resonate with the next generation of consumers, the Los Angeles-based fashion retailer said. His involvement will span content, commerce, partnerships, events, and long-term growth initiatives designed to further establish REVOLVE and FWRD as leaders in the evolving menswear landscape.

Wade will also be featured in upcoming campaigns, content initiatives, brand experiences, and curated product programs, the company added.

Wade won three NBA championships at the peak of his career. Growing up, Wade started doing drugs, and to avoid gang life and drugs, he took to basketball throughout his high school years at Harold L. Richards High School in Oak Lawn.

He continued to Marquette University, where he led the team to their first Final Four appearance in 25 years. He was drafted by the Miami Heat in 2003 and chose to leave Marquette during his senior year after an exception was made for him because universities usually require that a student complete graduation before retiring a jersey.

It was with the Miami Heat that Wade won three NBA championships, first in 2006 and then in 2012 and 2013. Wade announced his retirement after the 2018-2019 season.

He earned $200 million in salary alone during his 16-year career in the NBA, according to reports. Forbes recently said he makes $17 million annually in endorsements.

Since retiring from the NBA, he has established several companies. He invested in the Utah Jazz in 2021 when the team’s total valuation was $1.75 billion. In three years, the team’s value hit $3.46 billion.
