‘Die Hard 2’ and ‘Fright Night’ actor Art Evans dies at 82 as wife pays emotional tribute

Art Evans, the veteran film and television actor fondly remembered for starring in Die Hard 2 and Fright Night, passed away on Saturday, December 21, at the age of 82. 

Publicist Erica Huntzinger confirmed Evans’ demise to Variety. And though the actor’s cause of death was not revealed, his obituary said he “passed away peacefully” in the midst of his family.

“We are heartbroken to share that Art has passed away. Please respect our privacy at this time. A memorial will be held for friends and family to attend at a later date. Thank you,” Evans’ wife, Babe Evans, said in a statement.

Evans’ career in film and television spanned over four decades. Besides Die Hard 2 and Fright Night, the deceased 82-year-old actor starred in other movies including A Soldier’s StoryTales from the HoodSchool DazeNational Lampoon’s Class ReunionBitter Harvest, and Metro

He also starred in television series including Hill Street BluesThe X-FilesFamily Matters, and M*A*S*H. But Evans is fondly remembered for starring in Die Hard 2. He played an air traffic control tower employee who assisted John McClane (Bruce Willis) in defeating terrorists.
