Hartford, CT — State Public Health Commissioner Manisha Juthani has endorsed the American Academy of Pediatrics 2026 childhood vaccination recommendations, which the group announced earlier this week.

Juthani said the AAP’s immunization schedule incorporates “well-established, science-driven recommendations that physicians, public health officials, and parents can rely on to keep children healthy and communities protected.”

She added that the recommendations remain consistent with current protocols that the state has relied on to minimize the risk of preventable disease.

The announcement from Juthani comes after Connecticut affirmed its commitment to the existing vaccine schedule for children and adolescents earlier this month. Connecticut, and 14 other states in the Governors Public Health Alliance, have elected not to adopt changes to the vaccine schedule proposed by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

“Public health policy in Connecticut will continue to be driven by the best available evidence-based research and data,” Juthani said. “Our responsibility to the health of our residents requires nothing less.”
